Lawrence Scott Ennis, MD, FACS

Dr. Scott Ennis received his bachelor’s degree from Birmingham Southern College under a presidential honors scholarship and graduated from medical school at the University of Alabama at Birmingham.  He received many accolades including “Best Intern” and “Outstanding Chief Resident”, an award given to the doctor regarded as the best physician by his fellow doctors.  Following UAB, he was recruited for a Plastic Surgery Fellowship at The University of Virginia, considered one of the best Ivy League university hospitals in the country.  During his tenure, Dr. Ennis published a paper in The American Surgeon on a new procedure to repair injuries suffered by victims of major trauma. Surgeons around the world now use this procedure.  Additionally, Dr. Ennis was honored with “Raymond F Morgan Award” for original research in Plastic Surgery. Dr Ennis is currently double board certified by both the American Board of Surgery and The American Board of Plastic Surgery.

Although these are excellent credentials, what makes Dr. Scott Ennis stand out from other surgeons is simply his talent.  He is recognized for his "tireless pursuit of perfection" and "attention to detail."  He feels very passionate about obtaining the optimal result for each and every person and continues to receive accolades from his patients by being selected as the 2008 and 2009 Best Plastic Surgeon by Emerald Coast Magazine Readers Poll.  

Dr Ennis specializes in endoscopic minimal incision facial surgery, which allows him to achieve dramatic results while minimizing visible scars. Dr Ennis’ approach to cosmetic surgery is much different than many of his peers. Each patient is evaluated to formulate a plan that will address his or her individual problem areas and ensure the patient achieves a very natural look to their results.  Dr Ennis’ artistic background allows him to understand the subtle changes that occur with aging. Utilizing the most advanced techniques, he will discuss with each patient how he is able to give them a younger, more natural look while avoiding the pulled or stretched appearance of many of the older style facial procedures.  

Additionally, Dr. Ennis understands the importance of not Westernizing the features specific to our Asian patients.  Therefore, he applies rhinoplasty (nose surgery) and eyelid surgery techniques developed specifically for the Asian face. His goal is to enhance your appearance while preserving the cultural identity.

Dr Ennis has a unique approach to breast and body contouring.  Having preformed thousands of endoscopic "No Scar on the Breast" augmentations and body contouring procedures, he will use his experience to present you the options he feels will best bring out your inner beauty and create the most attractive and natural look for each individual patient.  He specializes in correcting Poland's syndrome of the chest area and can discuss an individual plan to address these patients specific needs.

Dr Ennis frequently sees and treats patients from Europe and other countries abroad. He is an acclaimed surgeon with a prestigious international clientele. Reflecting the international nature of our practice and our patients, Dr. Ennis provides services in Munich, Germany where his consulting practice is located in association with Dr. med Michael Nager (www.orthopaede.org).  There he is able to consult with patients and then treat them here at his practice in the United states. Additionally, he recently attended the International Hair Transplantation Conference in Amsterdam and met with physicians from around the world on the latest techniques in hair restoration.

As an accomplished artist, he has won many awards for his art work including first place in the first congressional art show in which his art work hung in the capital building in Washington, DC for a full year.

He has chosen Destin as his family home because of the charming people and the beautiful scenery.  Many of his patients travel a considerable distance and he wanted his patients to be able to recover in a beautiful, relaxed atmosphere while their families could enjoy themselves in a tropical environment.
